Terms of service
The rules of using the register.
Short, readable, and written for the testing period. If a term matters to your clinic, read it now — not after an inspection.
The service
Vet Logbook is a web-based controlled-substance register for U.S. veterinary clinics. It records dispenses, waste, receipts, reconciliations, biennial counts, PMP packets, theft/loss incidents, and related audit data.
Vet Logbook is recordkeeping software, not legal advice. It does not guarantee compliance with DEA, state, or professional requirements. The clinic remains responsible for its records, its registration, its staff, and its decisions.
Testing period
The service is provided as-is. Features may change, and uninterrupted availability is not promised.
Do not rely on the testing service as your only copy of a required record without maintaining the backup your clinic’s policy requires. Export the register regularly. Testing is not a promise of a production service level.
Eligibility and accounts
- You must be authorized by a U.S. veterinary clinic to use its register.
- Sign-in is through Google. A clinic owner or admin controls the member list and roles.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your Google account secure.
- Staff must not share PINs. A PIN attributes an entry to a person; sharing it breaks the record.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to access a clinic you are not authorized to access, interfere with the service, scrape it, reverse engineer it, upload malicious files, or use it to violate law. Do not enter data you do not have the right to enter.
Clinic data
The clinic owns its register data. The clinic grants Vet Logbook permission to host, process, and transmit that data to operate the service, secure it, and provide support. The clinic is responsible for the accuracy, legality, and permissions associated with what it enters, including patient and client information.
Vet Logbook may access clinic data only as needed to operate, secure, or support the service, or as required by law.
Fees and billing
The prices on the pricing page are the published monthly rates. Plans are billed per location. The clinic will be asked to agree to a plan before any charge.
Our intellectual property
Vet Logbook owns the software, design, brand, and documentation. The clinic receives a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service during its subscription. The clinic’s data remains the clinic’s.
Third-party services
The service depends on Google Firebase and, where configured, Resend, Twilio, and Google Maps. Those services have their own terms and availability. Vet Logbook is not responsible for outages or acts of third-party providers beyond its reasonable control.
Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Vet Logbook does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will satisfy every requirement of every regulator.
Vet Logbook is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Consult your state board, DEA field office, or counsel for compliance questions.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vet Logbook will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption arising from the service. Direct liability is limited to the fees paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or the maximum permitted by applicable law if no fees were paid.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Termination
A clinic may stop using the service at any time and should export its records first. We may suspend or end access for misuse, a security risk, or a legal requirement. On termination, data is handled as described in the privacy policy.
Changes
We may update these terms as the product moves from testing to general availability. The “Last updated” date will change, and material changes will be communicated to clinic owners before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
